Mark Howerton Mark Howerton is currently Executive Producer with WIN Multimedia in Tallahassee, Florida. Recent projects there have included documentaries on The Seminole Tribe of Florida and the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney Australia. Previously he worked as a producer with Media Motion in Houston, Texas. Major clients included, Compaq Computers, British Telecom, Knowaste Recycling Systems, and Microsoft. As a freelance writer, he has also written several documentaries for PBS and the State of Florida.
Prior to his career in television, Mark Howerton was a faculty member in the University of Oregon's School of Journalism. He holds Masters Degrees in Journalism and Fine Arts, and a Bachelors Degree in Telecommunications. An avid outdoorsman, he is a lifelong climber, skier, sailor, and surfer. Climbs have included every major peak in the Cascades, including pre and post-eruption Mt. St. Helens. He has surfed around the world, including Australia, Indonesia, Mexico, Costa Rica, and every major break from Santa Barbara to Seaside, Oregon. As a native Oregonian, he grew up between the Cascades and Oregon Coast Range and learned first hand how important conservation and commitment to the environment can be. He has worked with the Pacific Rivers Council on watershed protection and continues to be active in conservation projects in the Pacific Northwest |
